Paypal does not seem to protect the seller at all either. Recently I received a notice from Paypal saying that an order I had taken through my business months ago had decided that the charge was fraudulent on their credit card Now, we were in constant contact with the customers, as it was a custom order of 2 dresses. We developed the typical relationship that we do with clients, and then we got smacked with that. We were not aware (there is so much fine print with paypal) that if the credit card company refunds the money to the buyer, that it comes out of our account!! Plus an additional "fee" because Paypal supposedly fought on our behalf. What the heck to all these other fee's cover that I pay constantly to paypal?? We sent the credit card company all of our correspondance with the buyer to show that they were well aware of all of the charges. Then they said that the credit card number was stolen and used with us We just knew it was a lie, but there was nothing we could do about it. I have had a big problem with Paypal since. I guess if you make a purchase through paypal, all you have to do is say that your credit card number was stolen for a purchase and you get your money back.
I think its just wrong. We take online orders. You put in your credit card information....we cannot check ID's and signatures the way that a retail store in the mall or department store can. We wrote a nice letter to paypal telling exactly how we feel about it.
