Sorry your puppy has LP. Yes, say something to the breeder. She needs to know her dogs are throwing LP pups. LP is genetic, but it can also appear after jumping or falling. Our babies do love to jump. According to the offa site, though, some dogs inherit the propensity for developing it later. So, even though they seem okay as young pups, some may think their LP is due to an injury but it is a genetic fault that allows the injury to occur more easily.

There is a lot of information here about Luxating Patellas. I would do a search or just scroll through this forum and you will find a lot of info on it. Here is a site to read: OFA: Patellar Luxation Information I think your vet is HIGHLY exaggerating the percent of toy breeds that have LP. Unless he means 95% of the toy breeds have some dogs within the breed with LP, and not 95% of all toy breed dogs.

Best wishes to your little one!
