My niece had a house to burn with her Rottweiler Madison in it. Luckily she had one of the old tubs in it (metal) and Madison got in the tub. When my niece arrived and notified the fireman that she had an animal in the house, they told her no way she could have survived but they went in anyway and found her in the bath tub. She was NOT burned but had inhaled a lot of smoke. One of the fireman took her and put oxygen on her and took them both to the vet. She stayed in the hospital for a week but now is just fine. Thank the Lord! All that being said the firemen had to hold my niece back because Madison is her baby and she determined to be sure her baby made it.
