Starr has bloody diarrhea, again. The first time was a little over a month ago and I took her to the vet for it. He said something about the parasites lying dormant in pups from the time they're at their first home, then something triggers them and causes the diarrhea. He gave her a shot and a bottle of pills. I've been reading about the medication she was on. It has a 60% to 70% effective rate and some serious concerns about liver damage.

If Starr is eating something in the backyard or picking up the parasite in the water in the yard, what do I do to stop it? I don't want her to be sick every other month.

Then again, I gave her a rib bone on the 4th of July and she's never had people food ...

Help.
