I lost a diamond stud earring once that ny husband have given me for a birthday present. It was in my ear when I went to sleep and when I woke in the morning it was gone.
I looked everywhere for it and finally gave up. About 3 yrs went by and we were in the process of replacing the carpet in our home with laminate. My husband pulled the carpet up in the bedroom and there it was in the crack between the sub floor/baseboard and wall right next to the floor vent!
I had moved the furniture around in the room a few times over the 3 years it was missing and ran the vacuum countless times. Don't give up you just might find it when you least expect it.
