It is supposed to protect against one more worm than Heartgard.
Interceptor is made by Novartis and its active ingredient is milbemycin oxime.
Heartgard is made by Merial and its active ingredient is Ivermectin. Heartgard Plus adds Pyrantel for intestinal worms, so it is the one that is comparable to Interceptor.
