Try something else -- I started with Wellness superfive mix (chicken) and it is a high quality food sold now at PETCO. I currently use Merrick, which is excellent, but truth be told, it is expensive.

Where did you get the idea that RC uses byproducts? Joey has been using Royal Canin for a couple of years, and although we've tried other products this is one of the few that he'll eat, and he doesn't experience any allergies form it. He's doing well, no itching, vomiting, diarrhea, or gas. His teeth and hair are in great shape. Here's a good site that debunks some of the myths associated with dogs foods, and you might learn to grade a dog food on your own.
