and this is what little puppies do
But since you got him fairly early you're going to have to step in and teach him some doggy manners which he would have gotten from his mother
What works with these little ones
and they do calm down somewhat as they get older but it's better to nip it in the bud before it gets ingrained in their mind that they are allowed to do this
Everything is a game to them
and any moving target is in play
so when he starts nipping and he gets too excited Yell ... NO! or what ever you think you'll be best with
For little ones like this ... they get rowlled up and I like to pick them up and hold them away from my body until they calm down
Because like you said if you walk away he's going to nip at your feet
