Don't feel bad if he is confined. He will experience that as a 'safe haven' not a 'prison'. I also posted in your other thread...
His stomach is about the size of a walnut.To make sure he eats enough weigh him every week and feel his ribs and spine. If you have to use a bit of pressure to feel them he's fine if not he needs more food more often. How often do you feed your little boy?
