gunnar is in the same situation. the groomer shaved that area. I'm letting it grow out. I look closely at pictures at older dogs and saw that that hair grows down the sides. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what and how much hair goes in the top knot. Gunnar has enough hair for a short one. he looks like Pebbles! my DH & son thinks it's stupid. I love it!
