One thing you can do is to stick with the same brand kibble yet swap up your main protein source. I feed Merrick Before Grain, typically Chicken. Harley also like the Buffalo, so I buy the little one pound bag of it often and I will mix it with the chicken some days or just feed the Buffalo by itself. This way, there is no transition time like with totally changing foods because all of the other ingredients are the same! If you use a brand of kibble that offers sample size bags it works out really well because you don't have to worry about something going stale before you use it up!
