From the looks of her belly, I'd say she is having more than just two. My first litter 2 years ago was with a 9-10 lb female; she had a litter of four. I'm going to guess that for your girl also. I also tried listening for heartbeats back then; though I could definitely hear them, I had no idea if I was listening to one, two, or more............only the xray could tell me how many pups there were. I'm hoping to do it all again here in August. It's a bit to early to be sure, but things are looking promising.
Though a bigger female is better able to carry a larger litter, I don't think the size of the female is a factor in how many puppies she might have, but rather how many of her eggs get fertilized & not reabsorbed.
