To you breeders/showers

I'm having a problem with my biewer's ear flop. One is floppy and the other stands. They were both standing fine and then one day I noticed that it was floppy. To make them originally stand I shaved the ears (to lighten the load) and massaged them a little each day. I tried that again and nothing. So I unfortunately resorted to taping (just the one, i HATE doing this especially since its just for cosmetic purposes). I used medical cloth tape and a paper tape (used for packing it is thick and provides support) Is this wrong? Is there something else I can do, should do?
