Exercise is key here...Apple would act like that, but I walk her 1/2 hr. in the morning, and 1/2 hr. in the evening, if it's not too hot! And I don't let her just meander down the sidewalk, sniffing...I keep her going, and let her know we're out for a walk, not out for a sniff lol...I do let her stop to pee, poop, etc...If she seems to be getting to hot, I'll pick her up and carry her for a minute or two, then she usually squirms to get down...I can honestly say, I don't think I could deal w/her rambuncious ways, if we weren't able to walk...Try it, I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised....By the way, I use a summer type mesh harness that's a little bit cooler than the regular ones....Hope this helps....
