I use Advantix. I pull the hair out of the way of the skin and apply it directly to the skin. Her hair gets this greased look for a few days, but it goes away without a bath. I've noticed brushing a day or so after helps speed up the process. Once I forgot to pull the hair out of the way and it went all over her fur and left a huge mess. That took over a week to go away, but that was my own fault.
My experience with the product has been overall positive.
