I know how you feel. We left our dogs for 8 days on the 16th of june. I cried driving them there. I cried driving away. I was a wreck! They were with other small dogs (chi's) but still they weren't in THEIR home with ME. But they had a blast! The airlines wanted $150 per dog per way (YEP thats right $600 for my dogs to ride on the FLOOR!!!!!!) so they stayed with a friend who dog sits. They had fun, but still I missed them terribly. We couldn't drive home from the airport fast enough!!!!
The look on their faces was priceless when they saw us!!!
So have a great vacation. Remember Ceaser says dogs live in the moment. Your baby will be fine and when you return will be happy to give you those wonderful doggie kisses!
