Cassie pulled out stitches, then glue, then made them bleed until we took her out of the box! We had to bring her to the babies in order to nurse, and then it had to be supervised. We had to do the stimulating until the tails completely healed.

Maybe some dogs are just that way - weird! I used to think she was giving me kisses, until I saw her licking everything that wouldn't move! Actually, I guess she licks things that move too! Whatever! LOL

That's exactly what Mimi did, she licked the cogulated part off of 3 of her 5 pups (she left 2 of the biggest pups alone). The smallest, who has no tail now had the poor blood circulation problem...the end of the tail died & fell off. I think it was the vet tech's fault (he blames Mimi licking it off)....he cut it too short, I specifically told the doc to cut it in the middle. He (vet tech) had the nerve to tell me that 'in nature' the mom ignores the runt. Well, he was not the runt, she was bred by AI on her 11 & 12th days....he was born 3rd. He is now the biggest! I had to sleep on the floor, next to her box, so I can supervise whenever she nursed.

tjdmom~ Anemia, will that come out in blood panels? She's had numerous tests & the acid bile test as well & she's all good.
