You got the dog, you need to take him to the vet. There is no excuse. I'm sure you can find a 24/7 clinic. There are plenty in my area. I researched dogs for 4 years before I got Scruffs. I had one before that, but he grew up with me and I still knew nothing about dogs. I had to research the necessary vaccinations, healthy foods and treats, toys, and other supplies they need. I researched what breed would be good for me. By getting a dog I knew it was going to be a BIG responsibility with a lot of sacrifices, but I knew that's what I wanted to do.
I think you need to consider if you are ready for a dog, and if you are, then getting the dog to the vet is the first step. Once you do that, you need to research as much as you can on dogs. Their food, how to train them, socializing (I'm not sure how old your pup is), etc. I know I might have been a bit harsh here but I did HOURS and HOURS of writing essays to my parents, explaining everything I was going to get for him, house sitting/dog sitting for people, etc in order to get my dog. It frustrates me that other kids can just go out and easily get a dog without doing the proper and necessary research. I apologize for being so harsh.
