Harness. Yorkies are prone to collapsed tracheas, so you never want to use a collar for them. I have heard of some using collars strictly as a place to hold identification, but harnesses can do that, too.

Also, I would put the harness on only when necessary, like for walks. When your pup is indoors, you should not have it on. I've heard of yorkies who have gotten their lower jaw stuck under the harness.
