My baby Kelsey definitley knows that my bed is for me only...i will let her sleep in it when i'm feeling lonely or to treat her. She likes her bed though...i'll often go into the room and find her sleeping/laying in it.
I think it's good they know the difference....you don't want your dog owning you.
