OK, I understand where you are coming from. I also live in California. It is the law, the Rabies shot. You have to give it to them. Just to let you know. That is the one that is required by the state. not any ofthe others, however, the others are deadly in puppies , but the rabies can kill humans .
My Suzi sis not have any problems getting the vaccine. It is best to make certain the vaccine is given without any other shot. If there would be any reaction it would be like a allergic one. You could request that you stay at the vet a few hrs after the vaccine is administered to make certain your pup is ok . Or you can request Benadryl is given beforehand. However the Benadryl will make your puppy more sleepy afterwards.
