I've done sit and down about 500 times each. Probably more since I've ordered over 6 bags of 650 treats of Yorkie Yummies... but that includes a few other dogs and other tricks. If I don't do a hand signal, he still has no idea which one to do. I'll say one command, he'll do either sit or down. If he gets a treat he is happy, if he doesn't, he'll go into the other position. Is it possible that he can't connect the words to a trick?? I've been doing sit and down 45 minutes every day and he still doesn't get it. He is 1.5 years, and a puppy I do doggie day care for already knows sit and down better than him after 30 minutes.

Oh, and he can't do his back feet. I'm not sure how that would work LOL.

That's what I was confused about, how he did it with his back feet, that would have been crazy!

Just keep at it. He will know what the trick's names are eventually. Uni knows most of her tricks by sound, but some we still have to do the hand signal too. Don't give up!
