I personally do not think that you should switch to adult dog food at this age. Puppy food is designed specifically for the needs of their fast growing bodies. As for the puppy eating more to compensate for what he is not getting, well, that just does not sound logical. A puppy's stomach is anatomically only so big, and once it gets full, he is not going to know that he has to eat more for nutritional requirements. From what I understand James Wellbeloved Puppy formula is a holistic blend, so she should not be having any kind of "heat" reaction to it. There might be a metabolic issue why this is happening.
