I agree! I also worry about people not taking them to the Vet, if they know they are chipped. Wasn't there the laundry mat scandal about a year ago that the person that found the dog, simply changed the ownership because the tag with the number was on the dog? I throw all my tags away. We give a certificate with the number, the number is registered with AKC, and the Shot record has the number on it for their Vet. We also include the application to register the chip in the new owner's name. But until then, they are already registered to me. I also have readers for my personal dogs.
