I think she would need to tell her sister immediately. What is she to do with the little body? Her sister might want her cremated. She can't hold the little body there until her sister comes home.
OP I suggest your sister be notified ASAP. She can tell you on the phone what she wants done. My fur baby means a lot to me. I would want to know immediately and yes I probably would come home. But at least your sister has the choice and you're not making it for her.
