After the adventure with the guitar, we drove about 10 miles outside of Jackson to a tiny place called Pinson. We went to see the Indian mounds that are there but we ended up only going into the museum. It was just too hot to hike to the mounds.

Pinson Mounds is the largest Middle Woodland period mound group in the United States, and dates to about 1-500 A.D.
