As already has been posted, the Citizens Advice Bureau is a free service.

Also if she is receiving state benefits and has no income she will be entitled to free legal aid, she should make an appointment to see a matrimonial solicitor (Lawyer) who will on the first visit ask her to fill in a green form which is an application for legal aid, the first visit is covered by this form and when the legal aid is approved she can then undertake the in depth discussions and legal processes that follow.

This should be a formality, although I cannot advise on what process she she follow, the solicitor will be equipped to help her.

Tell her not to worry and to get the legal advice she needs, these processes are in place especially for people like her.
