This is so sad, heartworm is so easy to prevent, and so painful and costly to treat. I get so angry every time I read about someone saying that heartworm medication isn't needed and doctors and drug companies are just trying to rip you off. People recommend "holistic" medications that seem more like "snake oil" treatment, and yet for some reason people want to believe them. Please treat your dogs with a heartworm preventative, and get testing once a year.
I agree, it would great if a rescue could take him. I wonder if the owner has tried that option? |
