When we are Home, I leave both of them alone.....but before we go out they both go through their daily Grooming routine. This tells them that they have to do all these things to be able to go out. I start with my male Artie first, depending on the weather, I will spray him with a leave in conditioner, comb his hair while checking for fleas, brush his teeth and was out his eyes. The last thing I do is put his hair in a mini-clamp clip. I found the best @ Walmart, 20 for $1.50 since my female Abigail, chews it out of his hair as soon as we get back home. (Disposable I guess?) He will not where a topnot the hair gets pulled out by the rubberbands. Abigail is only 8 months, she only started wearing her topnot for the past 2 weeks, I only make her wear it for limited amounts of time until she gets used to it. I fix her hair right before we walk out the door so she does'nt have time to mess it up. Besides being distracted by everything else outdoors, itsafe until we get back at home.
Patience to put it in, Tolerance and consistency to keep it in, Training/correction when she trys to pull it out? For the most part she accepts all the fussing, dressing and all the jewelry/collars. But in the end she is still first and formost a "Terrier" if she really wanted it out it would be. Nice of her to cater to my whims? Good Luck!
