well i have 2 different answers here.........my old groomer was a shop and she charged me $35 per grooming. I would always give a $10 per dog tip. Then I started bringing Truman and the last time she up charged me because he was difficult to groom. I paid the $50 to have my FOSTER groomed by her plus a $10 tip. When you are a foster home grooming and food are your responsibility and she knew this. Plus she is also a Yorkie breeder and I believe breeders should give back to their community as we are all working for a common good. There are a lot of groomers that groom rescues at a reduced rate because of this but she felt the need to up charge. He is not mean, just very nervous as he was never groomed in the past and does not see well.

What she didn't realize is I would have upped her tip if she hadn't up charged me $15 on the grooming. I was so mad that she did this I found a new groomer that does it out of her home and she only charges me $20 per pup, didn't up charge for Truman AND said that the tip was not necessary! I did insist she take a $10 tip for Truman's grooming since I know he can be a handful. She will have my business and referrals forever. I get them all groomer once every 6 to 8 weeks so with that in mind groomer #1 is out a bundle and groomer #2 has now added 4 new regular clients to her schedule
Wow! I just did the math and I am saving almost half!
Old~$1015
New~$560 plus Truman's tip

Just look how cute Truman looked after his visit this week
