Yeah, I really thought it seemed outrageous too. The thing is, I took her to a vet in Maine to be spayed and she had a reaction to the induction drug... not any fault of the (very reputable and professional) vet, just a weird reaction. But as you can imagine, I am so scared to have it done again, and I know that this veterinary clinic is amazing and will do a great job. I'm torn... I know and trust them, but the price is just so ridiculous. I guess I'll just see if I can find another place that has a good reputation for small dogs (she's only 2.8 lbs, that's another issue that worries me) that is more affordable. I just want my baby to be in the best hands possible.
