Oh, dear Gussie! Have you all seen the movie that was popular a few years ago called Perfect Storm? We seem to have had one of those around here this afternoon/night and we have the destruction to prove it!
My husband brought in the packages today as he was leaving to go to Nashville. Poor Yodi was in them but Frank failed to mention there was a specially wrapped and decorated box in today's presents. I vaguely recalled the short ring of the doorbell hours before that was to have alerted me we had boxes delivered. I suppose Taffy's crazy antics should have been a clue but then she's always showing out when my attention is focused on something besides her.
I totally forgot that today was Thursday thereby shortening my week in a bad way. (I have to stay at home tomorrow for Schwan's to come and that's going to rain on my parade just a bit.) Actual conversation in our house: Husband says, "Today is Thursday." I reply, "When did that happen?" He answers, "This morning!"
I know...I know...but we have to find some way to entertain ourselves so we end up doing our own comedy routine without meaning to. It works fine unless one of us is trying to be serious. We generally end up laughing. I think we might even earn a dollar if we took the show on the road...LOL
So....I had forgotten it was Thursday which meant that I had forgotten he was going to a bluegrass concert in Nashville (a 1.5 hour drive away) but he was spending the night. (Yes, I'm a GRITS...girl raised in the south...but bluegrass is not my favorite style of music so I don't get the season ticket at the Rhyman.)
A few days ago when I discovered we were getting Yodi, I suggested that he take Yodi with him to the Rhyman but he declined which is putting his reaction down in too nice a way.
