Actually, larger breed dogs SHOULD be with there moms from 10-12 weeks as well...ya gotta rememberm the puppies are still tiny (Even if some 12 week old large breed puppies are twice the size of a full gorwn yorkie) In comparision to the full grown dog. It still has to be taught things at 10-12 weeks. its a shame so many breeders dont follow this. Even if they should.

hell, my sister got a 4 week old lab puppy a few weeks ago (Against my advice) And it has biting problems already. It is now up to her to teach the puppy bite inhibition. And that is a hard Job..

and i had to tell her "i told ya so"..
