How old is your baby? Tear staining is often linked to teething, and I know that Ella's got much better when she was passed that phase. We also have a Maltese puppy, so I've been exploring different remedies, too. I didn't want to use Angel Eyes (at least, not yet) because it is an antibiotic, and I just don't know how I feel about giving that to my dog for what is basically an appearance issue. On a Maltese forum I'm on, lots of people recommended feeding a small amount of plain yogurt to the dogs daily--the staining is caused by bacteria, and the yogurt helps naturally balance out the bacteria in the dogs. I also picked up a natural tear stain remover from a pet boutique. He still has stains, but not as bad, and they clean off much easier. |
