I have a ten year old cat and my yorkie wants to play with her constantly. The cat wants no part of her (even after 7 months) and growls and hisses at her while slapping her in the face (front claws removed, but she has sharp rear ones). Slowly they are getting along much better, but Zena has too much energy for Jazzmin and is much more agile and quicker. I had hoped they would be best pals by now, but it has not happened yet. They both sleep with us with no problems.

I suppose puppies have too much love and energy to give for older pets in the same household to tolerate. Sigh! Jazzmin the cat has not bitten my Zena or clawed her so far, and I'm praying it never happens. Zena needs to chill and Jazz needs to lighten up, but that is so hard to do because Z girl just "loves Jazz to death." I guess that is why Jazz has not hurt her at all; just slaps her upside the head while Z girl keeps coming back for more. I should record a video of it and send it in to that video TV show. I figure in a couple more months they will be best friends for life as Zena gets wiser and Jazzmin gets, well she is a cat so she will not change. LOL!
