Wellness and Innova are both nice brands. Innova has a puppy food, as well as small bites...the EVO is an all life stages kibble and is a high protein grain-free diet. The EVO small bites kibbles are very small and would be fine for a puppy. Wellness has a puppy formula and also a small breed formula, but if you've decided against that brand and want to try Innova, I'd recommend you try either the EVO small bites or their puppy formula. You can try contacting the company to see if they'll send you a free sample, so you can try it out before purchasing a whole bag. Then if your baby doesn't like it, you're not out a whole bag of food.
I hardly feed canned food, so I don't know what's out there.
Hope that helps.
