12 weeks? Is that a hard and fast rule? We got our puppy at 3 days shy of 8 weeks. The breeder had seperated the litter from the mother due to illness and was bottle/hand feeding them. Of course she was not allowed be around other dogs until her series of shots were completed. I thought 8 weeks was the norm. My Zena is doing very well and is strong and fit.
