Anyhow I have been using a sizeright figure 8 type harness and apparently doing it wrong. It is designed to slip over the head and then around the girth. What I have been doing is putting one paw through and then over her back and under her other front leg and then snapping it closed. Until I find something quicker I will probably keep using it the "wrong" way as I have been. That way it has no contact at all with either the chest or throat. That being said, if I use it the right way it seems to be more comfortable when not attached and I may be able to just leave her in it when I am away.
I am looking for an alternative that is both safe and "fast." Mokie is a large puppy about 9-10 pounds. As a man with a small dog I prefer stick to the plain and simple. Mokey thinks she is a collie anyway.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. |
As others have suggested, don't leave your yorkie in a harness, too many things could go wrong while you're away.
I've tried just about every harness made. I prefer two types the Choke Free and the Buddy Belt. The Choke Free goes on quickest, but I like the leg holes on the Buddy Belts.
Although, I've never tried one of Cindy's (ChattiesMom) I know many here do like them.

It doesn't matter what type of harness you use all of them will mat the hair if they are on very long. The silk ones ChattiesMom makes would probably do less damage to hair, if you plan on having your dog in one for hours.
If the rounded leather ones you're referring to are Buddy Belts - I love them!
