currently Sophie is on Royal Canin and turning her nose up to it. So here's what I did. I took a list of 7 foods to my local Pet Value (Pet Smart didn't carry one of these foods) and asked for samples. Many of the "higher end" foods do come in sample bags for free but one of them I did get a bag for $1.99 bags. I am now letting Sophie try the first one, Merrick Puppy Plate. She seems to be fine with it and enjoying it. I may never get to the other 4 or so that I have, but that's ok. I'll keep them as "treats".

I'm a bit leary with the high protein content of Orijen and although on my original list of 7 I did not take home a sample of it. As someone else posted, I too am not an expert on dogs, or dog food, however; the reading I've done so far regarding Yorkie diet has said a 28% protein food. Of course, at puppy stage a bit higher is ok. Again, it's not gospel nor is it necessarily the route for you to take with your puppy. I thought I'd share what I'm trying and see if you can gather any valuable information from it.
