I asked my grandmother would she like for me to give her one of my puppies as a thank you for being such a great neighbor and friend for the past 50 years.
Now a year later I am able to see the joy that HERBIE has brought to an older womans life. All I asked of her was that she let me visit Herbie and her when ever I went to visit my grandmother. Was one of the best decisions I have ever made. That little guy is extremely spoiled... and travels with her everywhere she goes...
bottom line.... There are free yorkies out there for those special people in this world |

What a wonderful thing you did for her. We too have given away two sweet babies, one to a family friend and one to a friend of a friend that had lost his mother to mad cow disease.

   | "Ok, it started out that I saw an ad yesterday stating they were giving away a free yorkie, well i personally have never seen that before, and thought it might be a scam so i called the number given and left a message. I just got off the phone with an older woman telling me that she used to run a kennel and her husband was put into a nursing home, she was moving into the nearest town and she couldn't take care of THEM anymore. I was surprised by the statement of THEM because the ad made it sound like one. She stated that she has boys and girls and the ones she told me about are 3-5 years. I asked her if I would be able to come look at them and possibly bring a couple home. So I am going there tomorrow morning. She is only about an hour away from me, and i am excited and flabbergasted at the same time that I could possibly bring home two fur-butts tomorrow for free. I am obviously going to look at their living conditions, and check them out, get vet info, and then if i do get any obviously have me vet check them out as well. So what do you guys think? I am being dumb or would you guys want to go take a look too?" |

I understand that most of the posters are concerned for your well being and just offering sound advice about what may be. I just want to tell you that I don't think you are crazy. I strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. You called on these babies, even though you thought it was a scam. I can see someone giving there babies to good homes, when something like that happens to an older couple. She has probably already offered them to friends and family, and needs to find them homes quickly. I am sure she has a lot of things going on and just can't take the time to care for them or wait for them to sell. As with any adoption there are always risks involved with their health. I know you will make the right decision, and if it is to bring them home, I wish the best for you.
