You cut panty liners into strips and place those inside the belly bands to catch the mositure. Some dogs won't even go with a belly band on...some do. And yes they can get chapped from having something damp against their tummies all day. Not to mention belly bands really mess up their coats.
If you have a marker or pee-er...I'd sooner place him in a confined area like an x pen while at work.
