Hi, don't know if this will help answer your question, but I was also looking for answers about chicken meal and there is a very good book out in it's 3rd reprint titled "Foods Pets Die For" and it goes into quite a bit of detail about what is in food for our animals. I am only a little way through it, but I think it might be something anyone who wants more information about what is inside the bag instead of just what's on the label.
