I had the same problem right after my Max got teeth removed. It turned out to be a urinary tract infection. However, once the infection was cured he established this bad behavior. My Husband was working from home at the time so what he had to do was keep him a 6ft lease and took him wherever he went for about a week. This allowed my husband to keep a close eye on him. If he saw Max looked like he had to eliminate he brought him to the wee wee pad until he went. Then we took the lease off but closed off whatever room we were in to limit his access to the apartment. Also when he hadn’t gone to bathroom after some time I would close off the wee wee pad by folding the playpen into a square… like a cage around the pad… and I kept him in there until he went to the bathroom.

And always jumping for joy when coming on the wee wee pad and giving a great treat.

This time around was definitely harder than the beginning but he learned it again very quickly.

It has been about 8 months since all of this and luckily he only misses every once in a while if he lifts the wrong leg… hahaha

Good Luck!
