| Rehomed, I guess I'll call it Riley was formerly my daughter's family's dog, and when she had to move and couldn't find a home that would allow pets, I stepped in and said I'd keep him. She made me promise that if she ever found another home where she could have him with her, that I'd give him back to her. WELL.............................................. ... I don't think that's going to happen. When the grandkids come over for a visit, Riley will play with them for a little while, but once they start getting all rowdy and disrespectful to him, he'll go lay down in his kennel. My rule is that no one bothers Riley when he's in his kennel. He's taking time out. When they don't heed the rule, he'll let them know by snapping at them now. He's learned that he doesn't have to put up with all the stuff he used to when he lived with them. He enjoys the calmer life with me, Grandma. My daughter has noticed it too, and now said I can keep Riley because he's so bonded with me, and he's unpredictable with the kids now. She says she'll get a more appropriately sized dog for the kids when they can have a pet. I love my Riley. |
