By the way, I have heard of getting a dog registered for "emotional needs", which I understand is kind of like a service dog, but not completely. I'm not sure if this applies in every state.
It is always best to call the airline and ask these questions thou. Don't forget you have to call the airline as soon as you buy the ticket to give them the flight number so they can reserve your pets place.
