I've been told that the coats that turn silver are the ones that are silky. My Sasha, that just had 3 new babies, has a very black coat, but she's as silky as she could be. I also have another dog that has the dark coat. After shaving it turned a dark blue color, but its still curly/cottony on the butt. Some one else told me the color of the eyes after a picture taken with a flash, also matters, but I can't remember which is which.
