Yeah, while it's important never to cut a cat whiskers, but it's ok to trim a dog's whiskers. Cats apparently use their whiskers for balance, as well as determining if they can fit through a spot. When Joey first grew his whiskers, as a puppy, they seemed super bristly, and one time when his face was wet, they were sticking out so I easily trimmed them. The new black hairs don't seem as prickly as the first ones did, so I just leave them alone, but some do come out when I comb his mustache.
