No the brand doesn't make a difference it's how much air is on top. Some people say a zip lock plastic bag is better because you can squeeze all the excess air out of it. You could also try keeping the container in the refrigerator that will help keep it fresher.

Sounds like you have tried everything I can think of, so giving him another brand might be your best option if he's really not eating. Each dog is different, and it so hard to make hard and fast rules that works for all of them. Hope you can find something he enjoys, and doesn't get tired of.
