My first yorkie was male and I had him for 13 years. He was affectionate with me but not with my husband and kids. He didn't really want me to hold him just sit next to me and he would follow me everywhere. He was Mommy's baby boy. Now Piper, female, loves everybody. She is the most affectionate dog I've ever owned. Loves, Mommy, Daddy, children, strangers other dogs. Loves to be held, carried around, kissed and told what a pretty girl she is. She loves her Mommy but she also is Daddy's little girl. My DH is totally in love with her.
