I'm no expert, but at 3 months and 8 months I would guess they're still establishing the pecking order around the house. They should mellow out with age. I don't have a good short-term solution, though. It sounds like they're driving you nuts.

I just let eddie and a chihuahua pal go at it every now and then. It sounds worse than it is. They sometimes get into some seemingly vicious battles, but neither has ever come out hurt.
